What is Haruko?

Yes. Units, learning objectives (OAs), and sub-skills follow MINEDUC's curricular standards for 7th grade Mathematics.

What does Haruko do exactly?

Haruko is the AI tutor. She asks before explaining. She waits before correcting. She gives graduated hints (4 levels), not direct answers. If the student is truly stuck, after several hints, Haruko works through the problem together — but the default rule is never to give the answer.

Why are there no grades?

Because grades are evaluative noise. Haruko measures coverage (what's been seen) and mastery (what's been understood). Students and parents see real progress, not a decorative number.

Are there points, badges, or daily streaks?

No. Haruko has streaks ONLY within a specific Challenge session (e.g., '3 in a row' during one session). No daily streaks, no leaderboard, no XP, no notifications pressuring the student to log in. Addictive gamification is not education.

What data do you store?

What's needed for tutoring to work: parent identity (email), student identity (name and birth year), their compiled pedagogical model (what they know, what they struggle with), their math step notebook. Sensitive fields are encrypted with Fernet.

Who can see my child's data?

Parents see aggregated metrics and observations. They do NOT see transcripts of their child's conversations with Haruko. That privacy is contractual with the student. Haruko does not sell data. Sub-processors (Anthropic, Google Cloud for Gemini, Mercado Pago for payments) see only what's strictly necessary.

How do I delete my child's data?

Whenever you want. You have the right to access, rectify, delete, and export data under Chile's Law 21.719. From your account you can request deletion; the process completes in 30 days max.

How much does it cost?

Monthly plan: CLP 9,990 per month. Annual plan: CLP 99,900 per year (equivalent to 2 free months). Family plans for 2-3 students also available. Card payment via Mercado Pago.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime. The subscription ends at the end of the paid period. Your child's data won't be deleted when you cancel — it stays available if you decide to come back.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes. Each parent has a unique code. When a friend subscribes using it, both get 1 free month.

What devices does it work on?

Any modern browser: laptop, tablet, phone. The ideal experience is a tablet with a digital pen (Apple Pencil, USI 2.0), but the built-in math keyboard works great too.

Does it work offline?

No. The AI tutor requires an internet connection to respond. The notebook saves to the cloud — if you lose connection, in-progress steps may not sync. Offline support is being evaluated post-MVP.

What languages is it available in?

Bilingual Chilean Spanish and US English from day one. Students can switch between both at any time.
